The Guimarães Municipality has gently offered all participants of ICEGOV 2022 a guided tour through the main historic parts of the city centre, some of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The tour will take place after the closing ceremony* (Thursday, 6 October).

Once the tour ends, all participants are invited to take part in the initiative Plant a Tree*. To symbolically reduce the carbon footprint of the conference, one tree for each registered participant will be planted in the city. While a few trees will be placed next to the Operating Unit’s building after the guided tour, the bulk will be planted outside the city to help create a new green zone. This is part of the broader initiative UNU-EGOV Goes Green, which will be presented later this year.

*As outdoor activities, both events will only take place weather permitting.
