Rafael Cardoso Sampaio

Professor in the Department and Graduate Program in Political Science at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). Ph.D. in political communication from the Federal University of Bahia. Researcher at the National Institute of Science and Technology in Digital Democracy (INCT-DD). Coordinator of the Political Communication and Digital Democracy Research Group (COMPADD). He was president of the Brazilian Association of Researchers in Communication and Politics (Compolítica). He has worked as a consultant for the World Bank, Bertelsmann Foundation (Germany), Adam Smith International (United Kingdom) and has been a research advisor for the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee (CGI.br), Labhacker – laboratory of Innovation (National Chamber of Deputies, Brazil), W3C Brazil and the Centre for Studies on Web Technologies, and Transparency International. He has experience in the areas of Political Communication and Digital Democracy with an emphasis on digital campaigns, e-participation, online deliberation and conversations, open government, digital participatory budgeting, and artificial intelligence.
