Marie Anne Macadar is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean of International Affairs at the COPPEAD/UFRJ. She holds her PhD from University of São Paulo, Brazil, and was a visiting student at the University of Cambridge, UK (2003-2004). She was a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Technology in Government (State University of New York, USA) in 2012. She has been a co-chair at Conf-IRM for the last few years, and she was also co-chair at the main Brazilian Conference on MIS and at the AMCIS (Latin American Track). Additionally, she is a peer reviewer in several national and international top academic journals. Her research interests are related to eGovernment, Smart Cities, eParticipation and citizen engagement. She is a researcher collaborator in the “Smart Governance of Sustainable Cities (2016/19)” international project. She is member of the Smart Cities Smart Government Research-Practice Consortium, led by the Center for Technology in Government, University at Albany, USA. She also supervises Phd and Master students in her research area. She is a peer-reviewer in the main national and international journals of the area. She regularly takes part of the main electronic government conferences and received some Best Paper Awards in the national and international conferences on the subject.
