The Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD) is the Portuguese data protection authority, tasked with the supervision of the personal data processing both in the private and public sectors, including law enforcement area. The CNPD is an independent administrative authority, organised as a collegiate body, that was established in 1994. It is a member of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) and of the Global Privacy Assembly (GPA).
