Gabriel E. Reyes is the National Director of IT Governance (National CIO) and the National Authority for Government Innovation (AIG) in Panama.  AIG's main responsibilities are to evaluate, supervise, regulate, monitor and advise State Institutions in order to promote the effective use and sustainability of ICTs in Government Entities.  Manage the Governance of Information Technologies, lead the 116 CIOs of the State and give expert support to the entities.

Gabriel have over 30 years of experience as a CIO in various sectors inclbanking and finance, petroleum industry, food industry, tech and public administration.

He is also a member of various organisations and networks including Panama's Advisory Council for ICT Training and the Faculty of Systems Engineering of the Technological University of Panama. As a member of the Electronic Government Network of Latin America and the Caribbean (RedGealc) Gabriel helps brings together the e-Government authorities of the countries of the region. It promotes horizontal cooperation, support for the development of citizen-centred e-Government policies, training of public officials, knowledge of key aspects of building a national e-Government strategy, and the exchange of solutions and experts among the countries of the region. As a member of the Advisory Council of CIONET LAC Gabriel is part of the largest community of IT executives in the world. With a membership of over 5,500 CIOs, CTOs in: Europe, South America, Central America and the Caribbean (LAC).
