INSTRUCTIONS: Authors – Paper Sessions

UNU Code of Conduct

All participants at the conference are reminded that ICEGOV is a scientific and academic event, which is bound by the UNU Code of Conduct to Prevent Harassment at UNU Events. Conference participants, peer reviewers and speakers take part in their personal capacity and not as representatives of their governments or employers. As such, no political stances or remarks may be made by the participants or speakers during the conference sessions, including during paper presentations. This includes remarks in favour of or against political parties and stances regarding ongoing military or non-military conflicts. If such a situation occurs, the session chairs or moderators shall interrupt the participant to remind them that such behaviour and remarks will not be tolerated.

Instructions

1. Ensure that you know when and where you are presenting your paper(s). This information was conveyed by email and is also available on the online conference programme.

2. Prepare your presentation (in English) by using the ICEGOV PowerPoint template available here. If you are required by your institution to use another template, that is not a problem. However, if you have no obligation to do so, we kindly request that you use the conference’s one instead.

3. Deliver your presentation to the organisers a minimum of 24 hours before the session by uploading your file to this location. Note that this is a drag-and-drop folder, meaning that you cannot see its contents nor see the file you just uploaded; this is normal.

4. Ensure that the file is:

  • In .PDF or .PPTX format
  • The file name is only your paper ID (e.g. 109.pdf or 109.pptx)

5. On the day of the session, bring your presentation on a USB stick as a backup, just in case your earlier file does not work for some reason.

6. Wait for the Session Chair to call your name for presentation. Ensure that you keep your paper presentation within the time limit: 15 minutes + 5 minutes for Q&A (Doctoral Colloquium students have 20 minutes to present their paper).

7. Once the session ends, approach the Session Chair to sign the presence sheet. This is needed to ensure you have presented your paper, which is a requirement for its publication in the conference proceedings.
