Naci Karkin
Naci Karkin has been with the United Nations University (UNU-EGOV) since 2022. Naci's core expertise includes e-participation, social media analysis, public sector innovation, and e-governance.
For the past two decades, Naci has been working on the digital transformation of the public sector, including ICT-facilitated public service delivery, website analysis, e-participation, and public sector innovation through ICTs. In his work, Naci regularly conducts systematic literature reviews, expert panels, stakeholder interviews, and consultations, as well as working with user engagement and electronic participation from different dimensions.
Previous positions include a Faculty Fellowship at Pamukkale University (22 years), Turkey, and a Post-Doc and Visiting Professorship at the Delft University of Technology (15 months), the Netherlands, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ir. Marijn Janssen, recognised as one of the world's 100 most influential people in e-government.
He holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Akdeniz University (Turkey, 2007), a M.Sc. in Public Administration from Pamukkale University (Turkey, 2003) and a BSc. Honours in Political Science and Public Administration from Middle East Technical University (Turkey, 2001).
