Biography

Sorin Dan is Associate Professor of Public Governance in the School of Management at the University of Vaasa, Finland. He teaches administrative sciences and conducts research on public governance and digital transformation. He serves as Associate Editor of Information Polity and is a member of the editorial boards of European Management Journal and Public Performance & Management Review.

Sorin co-chairs the Agile and Digital Transformation of the Public Sector special interest group and the panel on Public Sector Reforms in Comparative Perspective at the International Research Society for Public Management annual conference.

He is the co-editor of Artificial Intelligence and Power in Government: Law, Policy and Management (Palgrave Macmillan, 2026), co-author of Digital Talent Management: Insights from the Information Technology and Communication Industry (Palgrave Macmillan, 2021) and author of The Coordination of European Public Hospital Systems: Interests, Cultures and Resistance (Palgrave Macmillan, 2017).

Sorin has offered consultancy services to the OECD and the European Commission and has authored over 30 scholarly publications. His research has appeared in public administration and management journals, such as Public Management Review, R&D Management, International Journal of Health Policy and Management, International Journal of Public Sector Management, Public Policy and Administration and Public Performance & Management Review.
