Biography

Usman Gambo Abdullahi is currently the Head, IT Projects Clearance, Office of the Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). He is responsible for coordinating the IT Projects Clearance process, with the responsibility of clearing all IT Projects of Federal Public Institutions. Prior to being made the Head of this Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), he served as the Director, Information Technology Infrastructure Solutions. Additionally, he chaired the Agency’s Scholarship Committee, charged with the responsibility of managing the entire Scholarship process, from advertisement to award, monitoring student progress and impact. Other Committees chaired by him include the Information Security Management Systems Steering Committee, Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Scheme, Innovation, Research & Development Grants Award Committee, and Training and Capacity Development Committee.

Prior to joining NITDA, he served for six years as the pioneer Director, Accreditation, Curriculum and Quality, Centre for Management Development (CMD), Nigeria’s foremost Human Capital Development Agency.

He has been in the UK for over twenty years before relocating to Nigeria in January, 2012. While in the UK, he served as Lecturer and Director, Short & Professional Programme, Hampshire Business School, Farnborough College, University of Surrey. He also lectured at University of Portsmouth.

Usman Abdullahi has also served as a member of some Governing Boards including Maybury School, Surrey Governors’ Association and Ashford & St Peters’ NHS Trust, all in the United Kingdom.
