Beatrice is a STS scholar, and technology decolonization specialist. Brazilian with a Ph.D. in Communication and Information Sciences, she is currently a Post Doc/Junior Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh, coordinating the theoretical and field research on a large-scale project about the Planetary Values of AI.

She spent years in Africa and South America as a community engagement specialist for UN agencies and as a researcher for Governmental Research Foundations. She aims to bridge theoretical foundations with practical/grassroots approaches to rethink development standards in science and technology. She speaks six languages and loves film making and photography.
