Biography

Aristotle Onumo is an accomplished Information Systems Professional and Project Manager with extensive expertise in Information Security Management, Digital Strategy, and Business Process Reengineering. With over two decades of experience in both the public and private sectors, he has played a pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s digital transformation landscape through policy formulation, project implementation, and strategic stakeholder engagement.

As Director of Corporate Planning & Strategy at the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr. Onumo has been instrumental in leading transformational initiatives, including Strategic leadership in the implementation of NITDA’s 2021-2024 Strategic Plan and Corporate Balanced Scorecard; spearheading funding initiatives that secured millions of Naira for tech startup acceleration programs; Leading digital culture reorientation efforts within NITDA.

Onumo’s career spans key roles at NITDA, the National Planning Commission, and other government agencies, where he has led ICT policy development, cybersecurity initiatives, and national digital economy projects. His expertise in behavioural information security management has also led to several internationally published research works on cybersecurity compliance, digital trust, and e-government security frameworks.

Onumo holds a PhD, Computer Science (Behavioural Information Security Management) from the University of Bradford as well as a Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor & Lead Implementer (BSI).

He is presently the Director Stakeholder Management and Partnerships where he provided leadership in bridging the gap between technology and collaboration with a mission is to foster strategic partnerships that empower innovation across Nigeria's digital ecosystem continues to drive Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda, fostering , digital skills development, and public sector IT reforms. He is a thought leader in the intersection of technology, security, and digital governance.
