Angella Ndaka


Angella Ndaka is a Science and Technology Studies (STS) scholar whose research examines sociotechnical systems, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and the social dynamics shaping AI and emerging technologies in agri-food systems.
She holds a PhD in Sociology and Gender Studies from the University of Otago, and a Master of Public Policy from the Australian National University. Currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Witwatersrand’s School of Governance, she focuses on sociotechnical approaches to AI policy and foresight in sub-Saharan Africa.
She also serves as Principal Investigator at PASGR on youth and the future of work, and as AI and Gender Advisor for the GAIL Programme at Shortlist Professional. She has collaborated with leading institutions including FAO, Athena Infonomics, and the Centre for Epistemic Justice.
A globally recognized thought leader, she was named among the 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics, and the Women in AI APAC Award for Cultural Leadership.
