Noella Edelmann

Dr. Noella Edelmann is a senior researcher at the Department for E-Governance and Administration, Danube University Krems (Austria). She holds a doctoral degree in Public Administration as well as Masters degrees in E-Government and in Organisational Psychology. Noella Edelmann has been working at the Danube University Krems since 2002. During this time she has worked on several projects ranging from e-learning, e-participation and digital transformation of public administration. Currently she is involved in the “Future of Work” project that focuses on the development of new models of work in the Austrian public sector, collaborates with the Austrian Regional Government regarding the digitalization of the region and the public sector, the evaluation of digital transformation projects in the German public sector, and the H2020 project “Inclusive Governance Models and ICT Tools for Integrated Public Service Co-Creation and Provision” (inGov). She set up of the OA Journal JeDEM - Journal for e-Democracy and Open Government in 2009 and has been its managing editor since. She was co-chair of the International CeDEM Conference from 2011 until 2017, is currently the Lead Track Chair of the track “e-Democracy and e-Particpation” at the IFIP EGOV-CeDEM-ePart Conference, co-organiser of the European Commission’s Eastern Partnership e-Democracy conference and evaluator for research projects submitted to NordForsk and the Swiss National Funding Programme. In addition, she is responsible for the fellowship programme at her department. Her research interests include social media and online communication, the (digital) transformation of organisations and public administration, and Open Access scholarly communication.
