Claudio Fabiani is a civil servant at the European Parliament. He has started his career as civil servant at the European Commission in 2001, where he has gained a considerable experience as Project Manager. In 2006 he has moved to the Directorate-General for Innovation and Technological Support of the European Parliament. Since then, he has managed several projects, including AT4AM, the XML based editor used by the Members of European Parliament to draft amendments on legislative proposals. In that role, he has also led the institution towards the adoption of an XML standard for legislation, Akoma Ntoso, that has more recently become the official inter-institutional XML standard for legislative documents. In 2015 he has moved to the position of Head of IT Unit within the Directorate-General for External Policies. Since 2019 he is Head of IT Unit of the Directorate-General for Parliamentary Research Services.
