Mohammed Saidu Kumo, PhD, is a seasoned technologist with over 27 years of experience in IT, telecommunications, and engineering. He currently serves as the Director of Research and Development (R&D) at the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), spearheading efforts to rank Nigeria among the global leaders in Emerging Technologies. <\/p>\n
Previously, Kumo led NITDA\u2019s Projects Management Unit (PMU) from 2019 to 2023, ensuring the successful execution of strategic projects. He holds a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia and Bachelor\u2019s and Master\u2019s degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, Nigeria.<\/p>\n
Kumo began his career as a Graduate Assistant at ATBU and later managed critical roles in telecommunications, including Help Desk Manager for NITEL and Mobile Services Switching Centre Manager at mTEL , before returning to academia as a lecturer. He has authored over 20 research papers and received advanced training from institutions like Siemens, Motorola, and ZTE University, earning certifications such as ISACA\u2019s COBIT Design and Implementation.
