These scholarships are aimed mostly at students, especially those originating from&nbsp;<em>low-<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>lower-middle-<\/em>, and&nbsp;<em>upper-middle-income<\/em>&nbsp;economies (emerging countries). The goal is to facilitate their attendance at the conference, allow them to present their research work, and help grow their academic and professional networks.&nbsp;<strong>However, any author of an accepted paper can apply.<\/strong>&nbsp;Since 2014, a total of&nbsp;<strong>265<\/strong>&nbsp;Scholarships have been awarded to authors of accepted papers originating from&nbsp;<strong>56<\/strong>&nbsp;countries. Of all scholarships,&nbsp;<strong>85%<\/strong>&nbsp;were awarded to authors from emerging countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container\">To apply, you need to fill and submit the form available on this page (once the application period starts), ensuring that you correctly fill all the requested data until 22 July 2026. Please do not submit multiple forms; if you do, we will only consider the most recent. If your paper is co-authored,\u00a0<strong>only one of the authors may apply for the scholarship<\/strong>. If two or more authors of the same paper apply, this may lead to all applications being nullified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading container\">Conditions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container\">Since the number of scholarships is limited, the preference will be given to authors who fill both of the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list container\">\n<li style=\"margin-right:100px;margin-left:100px\">Are students during the academic year 2025\/26;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"margin-right:100px;margin-left:100px\">Are from a&nbsp;<em>low-<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>lower-middle-<\/em>, or&nbsp;<em>upper-middle-income<\/em>&nbsp;economy (emerging country).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container\">For selection purposes, a\u00a0<em>student<\/em>\u00a0is considered to be\u00a0<em>someone enrolled in a Bachelor\u2019s, Master\u2019s or Doctoral degree for the academic year 2025\/26 in a higher education institution<\/em>. Post-doc applicants will not be considered students for the purpose of this scholarship. The categorisation of a given country is the one provided by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/datahelpdesk.worldbank.org\/knowledgebase\/articles\/906519-world-bank-country-and-lending-groups\">The World Bank<\/a>\u00a0(most recent data available). The ICEGOV 2025 scholarship covers the following items:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list container\">\n<li style=\"margin-right:100px;margin-left:100px\">Free conference registration;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"margin-right:100px;margin-left:100px\">Lump sum of $300.00 USD.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container\">The free conference registration&nbsp;<strong>includes<\/strong>&nbsp;the Conference Dinner. Please note that accommodation and travel costs are not covered by the scholarship; the authors are expected to cover these costs themselves. As such, we advise that&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.icegov.org\/2026\/2025\/conference-info\/#how\">travel arrangements and visa application<\/a>&nbsp;(if necessary) are completed as early as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container\">The lump sum of $300.00 USD will be transferred to the participant\u2019s bank account&nbsp;<strong>after<\/strong>&nbsp;the conference on the condition that they physically attend ICEGOV in full: all fours days, plus the Doctoral Colloquium if one of their papers has been accepted for that session.
