Workshops<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

About<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The conference welcomes the submission of Workshop proposals, which may take different formats, including Expert Group Meetings (EGMs) or focus group sessions. The accepted workshops will take place on 28 September 2026<\/strong> and are planned as 2-hours long sessions, either in the morning or in the afternoon. Submissions shall be made through the form below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Workshops aim to explore topics that, while not explicitly covered in the main conference sessions, align with the overarching conference theme and tracks. These sessions should go beyond the traditional presentation of research findings, such as reports or academic papers. Organisers are strongly encouraged to design sessions that prioritise interaction, such as group activities, collaborative exercises, or dynamic discussions, ensuring active participation from all attendees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key outcomes intended by the workshops include:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Rigorous Analysis:<\/strong> providing a platform for the thorough examination of emerging or pertinent issues within the scope of the conference.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Networking and Knowledge Exchange<\/strong>: facilitating the exchange of knowledge and networking among a diverse audience, including global experts, researchers, practitioners, government officials, and policymakers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Thought-Provoking Discussion<\/strong>: encouraging meaningful discussion and the exchanging of ideas through participatory methods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The decision notification will be communicated to the same email address by 14 July 2026<\/strong>. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to these guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


    Selection criteria<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    All proposals will undergo a formal review process by the Workshops Coordinator<\/strong>, who will, in turn, suggest a list of candidate workshops to the Programme Committee Chairs<\/strong> for validation. The criteria for evaluating each proposal encompass aspects such as relevance, timeliness, novelty, and content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In the selection process, workshops that explore compelling topics through innovative formats, fostering dynamic interactions and appealing to a diverse range of participants, will be given priority. To enhance the chances of a proposal’s success, proposers are encouraged to carefully contemplate the following questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Why is the topic or topics relevant to the conference?<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Why is the topic or topics novel and important?<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Who is the expected audience, and what is the strategy foreseen (if any) to attract participants for the workshop?<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • How is the workshop covering original topics not necessarily covered by other conference sessions?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n


      Conditons<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Please be advised that the following conditions are applicable:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \n
      • All workshops must be in-person<\/strong> (no remote presentations).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Each workshop’s Chair and Speaker, only if they represent different organizations, will be granted free registration<\/strong> to participate in ICEGOV 2026 in full. However, it’s important to note that additional expenses beyond registration will not be covered.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • As the workshops take place outside the three main days of the conference, the organiser(s) of each workshop is the sole responsible for attracting participants.<\/strong> Although the ICEGOV team will promote and disseminate the accepted workshops as much as possible, it is unable to guarantee attendance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
