Summary

About

The 15th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance – ICEGOV 2021 was held in Guimarães, Portugal, from 4 to 7 October 2022.

Under the theme Digital Governance for Social, Economic, and Environmental Prosperity, the 15th edition of ICEGOV aims at contributing to the debate, reflection, knowledge generation, and systematisation and sharing on how digital technologies can be effectively harnessed to foster prosperity and development. At the same time, the conference will contribute towards a more inclusive, just, resilient and trustworthy world where no one is left behind, in a tight and proper alignment with the discussions and actions that have been instigated and promoted by the UN Secretary-General and Member-States.

Call for Papers

Two Call for Papers were issued: the regular Call for Papers (24 January – 1 May) and an Extended Call for Papers (2 – 15 May). Of these, 88 were research papers (49%), 61 were ongoing research papers (34%), and 29 were short papers (16%). Subsequently, a double-blind peer-review process was carried out by the 163 Programme Committee Members from 46 different countries. This process resulted in 342 reviews.

Published as part of the conference proceedings are 91 papers, of which 47 are research papers (52%), 26 are ongoing research papers (28%), and 18 are short papers (20%). Three of these papers were further selected by the Awards Committee and received the respective Best Paper award, as listed below. The acceptance rate for ICEGOV 2021 is 41%.
