Ricardo Pérez Manrique

Minister of the Supreme Court of Justice from 2012 to 2017 and President of the Supreme Court of Justice in 2016. In April 2016, on behalf of Uruguay, he assumed the Permanent Secretariat of the Ibero-American Judicial Summit. In 1989 he entered the magistracy as a First Instance Legal Judge of Bella Unión and later was appointed as Second Instance Legal Judge of Mercedes and also appointed to the Judicial Legal Secretary of the Supreme Court of Justice. In 1996 he became the (Sole) Legal Secretary of the Supreme Court of Justice. In 2000, he was appointed Minister of the Second-Shift Family Appeals Court. Former Vice President for Uruguay of the Mercosur Association of Childhood and Youth Judges. He held the position of President of the Uruguayan Association of Family, Childhood and Adolescence Magistrates and Judicial Operators. He has been a Doctor in Law and Social Sciences since 1973, practicing in Uruguay and Argentina - where he revalidated his academic degree at the National University of Buenos Aires.
