Peter Parycek is Full Professor for E-Governance, Head of the Department for E-Governance and Administration at the Danube University Krems and Head of the Competence Centre Public IT at Fraunhofer Fokus Berlin, funded by the Ministry of Interior. As a lawyer and graduate of the Master's program Telematics, his work is at the intersection of legal, organizational and technological developments. His research and project priorities include E-Governance, E-Democracy and E-Government. He had keynotes and lectures at leading Universities like Stanford Law School, London School of Economics, Universität Wien, City University of Hong Kong. Peter is an active contributor to the scientific community as Vice President of the IFIP Working Group 8.5, which organizes the leading E-Government conference in Europe, and as track-chair, program committee member and reviewer in further leading conferences. In addition, Peter is interested in the intersection of theory and practice, he held an advisory position at the Austrian Federal Chancellery (BKA) and was/is board member in several civil society organisations, like Open3 e.V. (www.open3.at), Open Knowledge Foundation Austria e.V. (okfn.at/), German National E-Government Competence Centre, or the German Society for Cybernetics
