Mário Peixoto is the Programme Assistant at the United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV) since August 2014, when he started as Editorial Assistant. Before joining UNU-EGOV, Mário worked for Rockstar Games in England as a Games Tester. His responsibilities at UNU-EGOV include translation and revision of reports and other documents, web and social media content development, logistical arrangements of events and meetings, development and management of programme-related electronic resources and databases, and internal and external communication. He is also responsible for the communication, social media, web portal, and proceedings of the ICEGOV conference since 2014. For the 2019 edition of ICEGOV, Mário will serve as Communications Chair.
Mário holds a BA in Applied Languages from the University of Minho, Portugal (2011) and a Masters in Translation and Multilingual Communication also from the University of Minho (2014). His research interests include foreign languages, translation and subtitling, and content development for websites and social media. He has delivered several workshops for students at the University of Minho and also volunteered as guide-interpreter for several cultural and sports events.
