John Nevins has been Chief Executive Officer at the City of Kingston since May 2005. Before joining Kingston, John spent the previous 10 years working in local government in metropolitan Melbourne.

Prior to entering local government, John’s experience included senior leadership in the Victorian public sector across a broad range of portfolios including public transport, water and the Attorney-General's Department.

During his time at Kingston, John has mobilised the organisation to identify digital solutions to improve service delivery and engagement with the community including an online consultation platform, a chatbot to respond to customer enquiries and a tool that eliminated the need for paper building plans. John has a Bachelor of Economics, a Graduate Diploma Public Policy, is a Member of AICD and a Fellow at LGPro.
