Grant Vergottini is the co-founder of Xcential, a small company in San Diego, California exclusively focused on legislative and regulatory software solutions. With a background in aerospace, computer-aided engineering, and XML databases, Grant was able to bring experiences from those industries to the field of legal informatics when he co-founded Xcential in 2002. Since then, Grant has worked on implementing legal drafting systems around the world, most notably in California, at the U.S. House of Representatives, in Hong Kong, and in the United Kingdom. Grant is also one of the key members of the LegalDocML Technical Committee at OASIS which standardized the Akoma Ntoso standard for legal documents. This involvement also includes annual participation in the LEX Summer School and Akoma Ntoso Developer’s workshop in Ravenna, Italy. Grant has designed the technical architecture for Xcential’s legislative drafting solution – LegisPro.
